Location

Veliko Tarnovo, or VT is situated just north of the central part of Bulgaria and stands at 210 m above sea-level. It is located between Sofia to the west and and Varna on the Black Sea to the east.. This beautiful city is located on the plains of Stara Planina and it's tiers of culturally-rich homes and buildings cling to the sides of three hills. The river Yantra meanders through the city centre forming 3 peninsulas: on one stands the spiritual town of Abarnassi; Tsaravets, where the famous lightshow can be seen stands on another, and on the third and most central is the Art museum and famous Asen's monument. Here many concerts are held and one can enjoy the sun and the music with a pleasant drink most weekends.
